Dr. Beverly Bond

Memphis Historian

Associate Professor of History, and the Director of African and African American Studies at the University of Memphis. She is co-author of "Memphis in Black and White," "Beale Street (Images of America)," and "Tennessee Women: Their Histories, Their Lives, Vol. 1." In addition to authoring several journal and encyclopedia articles, she is also working on a centennial history of the University of Memphis from 1912 to 2012, and the book "Claiming My Self: African American Women in Memphis, Tennessee, 1820s - Early 1900s."
